Zachary Redgrave shut off his phone, shed his clothes, and went back to sleep.
Hannah Hale put her phone away and helped Morgan Joyce lie back down. "You rest for a bit. I'm going to go clean up the dishes."
"Okay."
The door to the hospital room opened from the outside, and a nurse walked in pushing a medical cart. She was a little surprised when she saw Hannah Hale. "Dr. Hale, what are you doing in our department?"
"This is my friend. By the way, what's his condition? Is it serious?"
The nurse hung the IV bag on the hook beside the bed. "It's not extremely serious, but he lost a fair amount of blood. He'll need to stay in the hospital for a few more days of observation, and we'll need to be careful with his diet."
"Okay, I understand. Thank you."
"Dr. Hale, you're being too kind. It's just my job."
The nurse leaned over and started Morgan Joyce's IV drip. "There we go. I have to get back to my rounds, so I'll be on my way."
