Morgan Joyce nodded and headed upstairs. Pushing open the bedroom door, he found Hannah Hale just waking up. She sleepily reached out and turned on the bedside lamp. The warm, orange glow made it hard for her to open her eyes.
"You're awake."
Morgan Joyce walked to the bedside and sat down, his eyes filled with enchanting tenderness as he looked at her.
"Mhm, when did you get here?"
"I came over right after work. I missed you a little."
Hannah Hale looked at him with her clear eyes, her fair hand intertwining with his. "Actually, I missed you a little, too."
Her words were like a wildfire, incinerating Morgan Joyce's self-control bit by bit. He leaned down, bracing his arms on either side of her, and his lips found hers with unerring accuracy.
Hannah Hale slowly closed her eyes, pliant as a gentle kitten, letting him do as he pleased.
Morgan Joyce's fingertips found the buttons on her shirt, undoing them one by one...
