「The Old Madam's Courtyard」
The butler relayed Ye Qianning's words, then released the Old Madam and Xiang Mingli. Mrs. Wang led the courtyard's servant girls in helping the two back to their rooms.
Although the Old Madam had recovered her wits, her body was still badly injured. The injuries from her scuffle with Old Man Gu weren't severe; the worst was from when Ye Qianning had thrown her.
She had spat blood at the time. And now, though she could move, even the slightest exertion sent a sharp pain through her chest.
Xiang Mingli was in a half-conscious state, his body covered in purple and blue bruises. He couldn't move at all.
"Mother, we have to get a doctor. Look at how injured Mingli is. It'll be a disaster if he develops a fever." Mrs. Wang dabbed his forehead with a handkerchief.
