"Yanzi, I'll always be good to you," Mu Ziquan said gently, looking at his fiancée's adorable expression.
"You're so good to me, Ziquan. My cousins used to tease me, saying I was a toad trying to eat swan meat. They said marrying you was just a foolish dream," Xiao Jiyan tattled freely.
A warm smile touched Mu Ziquan's lips as he whispered to Xiao Jiyan, "We're made for each other. How could it possibly be wishful thinking?"
After he spoke, he gave Xiao Jiyan's delicate nose an affectionate tweak, then looked up toward the horizon.
The sun was setting, leaving only a slowly fading afterglow across the sky.
Mu Ziquan turned, took his fiancée's hand, and led her to the car.
He opened the passenger-side door for her. Once Xiao Jiyan was settled inside, he closed the door and walked around the front of the car to the driver's side.
Xiao Jiyan looked up and saw Mu Ziquan bathed in a halo of light, looking as elegant and charming as a fairy-tale prince.
