Vera Xavier chuckled and explained, "I feel like there's been a huge discrepancy in the image I have of you lately. I need some time to process it, so I hope you don't mind."
Nathaniel Nathan looked at her. "What was I like in your eyes before?"
"Brilliant, aloof, and domineering. You were someone to be admired from a distance," Vera Xavier replied.
Nathaniel Nathan frowned. "You've listened to too many rumors and lost your own judgment of me."
Vera Xavier gave a bitter laugh. 'In her past life, she had actually suffered a great deal because of him. When he became domineering and fierce, he was terrifying. And when it came to making ruthless decisions, he could scare a person to death.'
