Vera Xavier said quickly, "I was just about to explain things to them when you arrived!"
They weren't worthy of an explanation from her, and she had no need to justify herself to them.
She said softly, "Mr. Nathan, you have a weak heart. Please don't get worked up over something like this."
"How can I not be angry?" Master Nathan shot her a glare. "These bastards are bullying the person who saved my life! If I don't show some emotion now, then I've lived this whole life for nothing."
He then turned and boomed to the crowd, "As for Vera Xavier supposedly 'running away from home' for those two days, what really happened is she stumbled upon me having a heart attack! She saved my life, and seeing that I had no one with me, she stayed and cared for me for two days until my family arrived. Every doctor and nurse at City First Hospital can testify to this!"
