As they were leaving, Cara Preston pulled Rona Langdon back and whispered, "Mom, do you think Vera Xavier and Aaron Cheney are a good match?"
"No way!" Rona Langdon said in a cold voice. "Aaron Cheney's family is too well-off, and his mom is fiercely protective of her own. If she marries Aaron, she'll just be enjoying a life of luxury. How does someone like her deserve a life like that?"
"You're right, Mom." Cara Preston chuckled lightly. "Aaron Cheney's mother is very protective, and he's the only son in the Cheney Family. Although Vera Xavier's reputation has improved recently, she would never agree to let Aaron marry Vera. But if Aaron's mother found out that Vera was trying to seduce her son..."
Rona Langdon's eyes lit up instantly. Cara Preston smiled and added, "I know you have other plans for today, Mom. With those plans in place, her reputation will be in tatters. If Aaron Cheney's mother comes along to kick her while she's down, the effect should be even better."
