To Vera Xavier's surprise, Cara Preston hadn't stayed home to recover but had come to school with Rona Langdon. Upon arriving, they didn't go straight to their classroom. Instead, they went to find Principal Gage, showed him Cara's medical records, and demanded she be given special consideration.
Principal Gage only agreed to see Rona Langdon and Cara Preston out of respect for Zachary Preston. After seeing the medical records, his gaze darkened slightly. He then called for Juliana Taylor and gave her a few instructions.
After listening, Juliana Taylor glanced at Cara Preston and asked in a flat voice, "The college entrance exams are just around the corner. Can your body handle it?"
Cara Preston nodded, but Rona Langdon had already spoken up. "Ms. Taylor, Cara's health is poor, and she can't handle any stress. You must keep a close eye on her. If anything happens to her, I will hold you solely responsible!"
