Elise Langdon was fuming and quickly denied it. "That's not true!"
"That paper wad is in your hand," Vera Xavier said, calling her out directly.
After all, Elise Langdon didn't have Vera Xavier's composure. The paper wad was right in her hand, and she had no way to get rid of it!
The male teacher said sternly, "Young lady, please open your hand."
Elise Langdon bit her lip and made a rash decision. 'My grades are bad anyway, and I won't do well on this test no matter what. I might as well drag Vera Xavier down with me.'
So she pointed at Vera Xavier and shouted, "Teacher, she's the one who threw the note to me!"
Vera Xavier, perfectly calm, pointed at Cara Preston. "Teacher, you can compare the handwriting on that note with the writing on my exam paper. Also, I highly doubt this is an isolated incident. Where there's one cheat sheet, there's usually another. You might want to see if this student has any more notes on her."
