Vera Xavier held her grandma's hand and said, "Grandma, don't worry. We're all fine now, aren't we? Rona Langdon only came storming in today because of that house. The most urgent thing now is for Dad to divorce her. Once they're divorced and everything is settled, she won't be able to cause any more trouble."
Her grandma looked at Zachary Preston with some concern. Vera said softly, "Dad just told me. He's going to divorce Rona Langdon."
She had already dropped all pretense and cut ties with Rona Langdon, so there was no need to call her Mom anymore. Just using her name felt right.
Grandma hated Rona Langdon's guts at that moment, so she didn't find it odd at all that Vera was using the woman's full name.
Grandma turned to Zachary Preston and asked, "Have you really thought this through?"
