Vera Xavier looked at Brooke Mitchell, who continued speaking. "From where I was sitting, I had a perfect view of you two. Susan came to bring you a drink, and you just jerked your hand, spilling it all over her. You did it on purpose!"
Vera Xavier just smiled and said, "Ma'am, if I really wanted to throw a drink on Susan Caldwell, I wouldn't have done it like that. I'd have done it like *this*!"
With that, she picked up the drink from the floor. It wasn't completely empty—about half the bottle was left—and she poured it directly over Susan Caldwell's head.
Vera Xavier had never been known for her good temper. 'If Susan Caldwell loved framing people so much, then fine, let's make her accusations a reality!'
Susan Caldwell hadn't expected Vera Xavier to actually do that and froze on the spot. But after a moment of shock, a faint glint of triumph appeared in her eyes. 'The more aggressive Vera is today, the better.'
