Once Vera Xavier finished speaking, she shot upstairs in a flash. From downstairs, Nathaniel Nathan could still hear the door close above.
Nathaniel Nathan raised an eyebrow. 'This little fox is getting harder and harder to fool. It's probably going to be more difficult to secure any 'benefits' for myself from now on.'
He straightened up, his brow furrowing slightly. 'I need to go home and have a serious talk with my parents. I have to find a way to announce our engagement as soon as possible. This can't go on.'
He called out, "Even if you shut the door, I can easily get onto the second floor. I'm letting you off the hook for tonight! Next time we meet, you'll pay me back with interest."
With that, he opened the door and left.
