Gu'er was fuming. 'My father, Lin Shan, is a very upright man. What does Chen Xia's story make him out to be? Who knows how many people she's told? If people took her seriously, they'd definitely think my father is a bad person.'
"Goddaughter?" Gu'er asked Chen Xia, anger flashing in her eyes.
"That's right, Sis. If I weren't worried about people talking, I would've been calling him Godfather long ago. You have no idea how much he likes me. He's even given me lots of gifts. When I have time, I'll take you over to his place. With me around, you have nothing to worry about.
