Sui'er looked at Gu'er. 'When Gu'er was my age, she was already earning her own money. She never relied on anyone. No wonder she looks down on me, and no wonder other people do, too. I really can't compare to Gu'er.'
"I get it. After the New Year, I'll talk to Dad first. Once he agrees, I'll figure out the rest. If you still won't let me go by then, Sis, I'll just find a different job."
Lin Sui'er calmed down. She felt that what Gu'er said made sense. She wasn't a kid anymore; she needed a goal. She couldn't let people really look down on her.
Gu'er looked at her, sensing that Lin Sui'er wasn't lying. 'Good. This kid isn't a complete idiot when she actually decides to listen. As long as she can think it through, it means she's not a lost cause.'
