You couldn't blame Fang Ziyin for misunderstanding.
She had just arrived in the countryside and happened to run into Jiang Baishu as he was getting off work. Jiang Baishu walked straight toward Leng Yuan's house.
He only noticed Fang Ziyin just as he was about to go inside.
Afraid of interrupting Leng Yuan and Gu Jiaojiao, he led her to the backyard.
So, Fang Ziyin assumed Leng Yuan's house was Jiang Baishu's. Later, she saw Gu Jiaojiao picking vegetables in the backyard, and Jiang Baishu naturally took the basket from her.
Plus the way Jiang Baishu was protective of Gu Jiaojiao.
And so, Fang Ziyin completely misunderstood.
Believing Gu Jiaojiao to be Jiang Baishu's fiancée, yet seeing her act so intimately with Leng Yuan, Fang Ziyin couldn't bear to see Jiang Baishu kept in the dark and decided to offer a tactful hint.
"Haven't you noticed that something's off? The two of them go into the kitchen to cook, while you're left out in the yard to pluck a chicken?"
