The long line of people remained.
The beggar boy stared intently at the Crown Prince. A moment later, his gaze shifted to the little puppy hiding somewhere and eavesdropping.
The Crown Prince followed his gaze. He lifted his long lashes slightly, his voice cold as he said:
"It seems I've been spoiling you."
He said this to Shen Lang without a shred of mercy, as if she were nothing more than a stray dog on the street.
Shen Lang lowered her eyes and silently turned to leave.
She mentally added a black mark against both the scoundrel and the beggar boy.
'Neither of them is any good. The original story talked about a righteous ruler and virtuous ministers, but they're clearly just a den of snakes, partners in crime.'
The Crown Prince glanced indifferently at the beggar boy and said:
"Why are you looking at her?"
The beggar boy said, "This servant just feels… feels that this puppy is a little strange."
