Shirley Lockwood blushed, rolling her eyes in annoyance. "Hey, Dad! Put me down!" she yelled.
"I'll put you down, but you have to promise me you'll behave yourself!" 'I must be losing my mind,' he thought, 'specifically warning this little brat to be nice to Eleanor Bishop!'
"Fine, fine, I promise, I promise! Dad, hurry up and put me down. You're embarrassing me!" Shirley Lockwood fixed her hair, rolled her eyes again, and responded with a look of weary resignation.
Archie Lockwood snorted. He carried Shirley Lockwood a full two meters away from Eleanor Bishop before finally setting her down.
Shirley Lockwood glared angrily at Archie Lockwood. "Dad, what are you doing? I just missed the pretty lady, that's all! You don't have to be so overprotective."
Standing to the side, Eleanor Bishop was also a little angry with Archie Lockwood for doing that.
'This was a golden opportunity for Rory to get close to me,' she thought, 'and Archie Lockwood just had to ruin it.'
