After C Luo escorted Lu Xiao back to her room, he left. Lu Xiao couldn't help but wonder, 'Did Fred get word of what just happened at the lab?'
She wasn't too worried, though. She was confident Fred would find an opportunity to contact her.
She just needed to create the right opportunity.
In a place with no daylight, it was easy to lose track of time, which only made the anxiety worse.
Lu Xiao sat on her bed, replaying all of the day's events in her mind.
Then, she suddenly doubled over, her face contorting in pain. She didn't scream or cry out, knowing full well that whoever was monitoring her would notice something was amiss.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before C Luo's voice sounded from outside again.
Lu Xiao, forcing herself to look as though she were enduring great discomfort, opened the door. She leaned against the frame and asked C Luo with a puzzled expression, "Did you need me for something?"
