After Cecilia took her first bite of the cake, a hint of surprise appeared in her eyes. She couldn't help but let out a small sound of curiosity, because she realized the taste was different from what she was used to.
"Did this shop get a new pastry chef?" Cecilia was a frequent customer, so she was very familiar with the taste. She could tell right away that it was different from the flavor she remembered.
Hearing her, Lu Xiao looked over. "Is something wrong with the taste?"
She hadn't noticed any difference herself. She didn't eat much cake from this shop, usually just having a small piece to accompany Cecilia.
"It feels like they changed pastry chefs. There's a subtle change in flavor. You probably don't notice it since you don't eat it often, but it's still pretty good."
Lu Xiao hadn't realized Cecilia was so familiar with the shop's pastry chefs. It was clear she'd eaten plenty of their cake over the years.
"Then they probably did change."
