Leona Grant was suddenly at a loss for words. His anger had gotten the better of him.
He froze for a moment, then came up with a self-righteous excuse to hide his embarrassment. "Well, have you considered what other people will think? Annabelle Linton and I aren't even divorced yet. Someone just asked me what was going on. Isn't this an embarrassment to the Grant family?"
Ashley Grant was so disgusted she didn't even want to reply.
'It's not like you cared what people thought when you were treating Annabelle so poorly before,' she thought.
But she didn't dare say that out loud. A clever idea struck Ashley. "Is that so? You were the one arguing with Annabelle just now, weren't you? It seems like you misunderstood her and made her pretty mad. How about I see if there's a chance to salvage this?"
