Carla King laughed. "You want to make it look like Charles is cheating on me with Wendy?"
Mrs. King laughed too. "What a great plan! Miss Linton, you're a genius! We get what we want, and that bitch Wendy King's reputation will be ruined. Carla, call her! Call her right now!"
Carla King agreed and made the call.
Annabelle Linton saw the look of utter adoration on Mrs. King's face and offered a faint smile in return.
Mrs. King sighed with admiration. "Dear, I like you so much. How about I make you my goddaughter? Don't mind me if I seem a bit slow—I'm a very loyal person. If anyone ever bullies you, I'll stand up for you."
