"Annabelle, let go of me! Let me go!"
With her arm pinned by Annabelle Linton, Joy Chapman had been slapped twice more, her fair face now red and swollen.
"Dad! Dad, help me! Help me! My arm feels like it's going to break, and my face hurts so much! Make her let me go!" Joy Chapman cried out.
"Annabelle... let's talk about this calmly. Please, just let Joy go first, okay?" William Chapman pleaded.
"That's right, let go of Joy first. She's young and doesn't know any better. You two can talk things out, there's no need to get physical," Yvonne Miller added anxiously.
Annabelle Linton sneered and violently shoved Joy Chapman away.
Her parents rushed to catch their daughter, inspecting the welts on Joy's face.
As soon as she was in her parents' arms, Joy Chapman burst into loud, aggrieved sobs.
"Shut up!" Ryan Linton snapped.
Joy Chapman looked at Ryan Linton's icy expression, her lip trembling pitifully. She sniffled, but ultimately managed to stifle her sobs.
