Annabelle Linton saw Mrs. Grant and greeted her politely, "Mom."
"Annabelle, you're here? Sit, please sit down." Roxanne Jennings stood up and greeted Annabelle Linton warmly. "I heard you were with a friend. I hope I didn't disturb you?"
Hearing this, a silent, sarcastic smirk touched the corner of Leona Grant's lips.
"Not at all. He just got back from abroad, and it's his first time here. I was just telling him a bit about life in this country."
The sarcastic look on Leona Grant's face deepened.
"Oh, I see."
Roxanne Jennings glanced at her son, who stood motionless by the window like a statue. She sighed helplessly and explained, "Leona was in a car accident this morning. He collided with another vehicle and fell into a coma."
"He hadn't woken up when I called you. It scared me to death. I'm so glad he's okay now. He won't have any lasting effects, will he?"
