Leona was startled and quickly let go of her hand.
Annabelle frowned deeply again, then opened her hazy eyes.
But the moment she opened them, her gaze met Leona's deep, dark eyes.
Their eyes locked.
'What a terrible feeling, seeing him the moment I wake up.'
Annabelle coolly averted her gaze and pushed herself up, feeling a sharp pain in her calf.
"You're awake?" Leona asked tentatively, watching her.
Annabelle didn't speak. She pinched the bridge of her nose, still trying to process the situation.
But the moment she did, she felt a pain in her forehead as well.
She casually tugged at the bandage on her forehead and pulled it off.
She glanced at the blood on the gauze, then at her surroundings, and pursed her lips in disinterest.
'I've had such bad luck. Always ending up in this damn place. I've lost count of how many times I've been here since I was reborn. It's so damn annoying.'
Annabelle, annoyed, yanked the IV needle from her hand and prepared to get out of bed.
