A faint warmth spread through Annabelle's heart. "Thank you."
Leona felt a little helpless.
'Why would the people closest to each other need to be so polite?'
'So deep down, she still doesn't see me as family. She's still keeping her distance, isn't she?'
He gave her a reproachful look.
Annabelle felt his gaze and was slightly taken aback. "What's wrong?"
Leona pursed his lips, his brow furrowed as he said seriously, "Annabelle, I'm your husband. Even if the sky were to fall, it's my job to hold it up for you. So please, stop saying 'thank you' to me, okay?"
Her heart, usually as calm as still water, skipped a beat.
Hearing his words, Annabelle felt something strike her heart, sending ripples spreading through her one after another.
Her lips curved into a smile. She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss. "Okay, Mr. Grant."
Leona smiled too and took her out for a meal.
