'Worst of all, she's actually talking about divorce?'
'And over some outsiders?'
'Excuse me?'
Leona Grant's expression darkened. "Annabelle Linton, what the hell are you trying to pull?!"
A bitter sorrow filled Annabelle Linton's heart.
'It's not like I want any of this.'
Annabelle Linton said flatly, "I'm not trying to pull anything. I just want to go out and get together with my friends. I've thought it through. I can't keep letting you control me like this, with no personal freedom at all. It's humiliating. So either you agree, or we get a divorce."
'A divorce would be for the best, anyway. It's not like I'm going to live much longer.'
'Humiliating?'
'Is controlling her like this really so humiliating?'
'Leona Grant honestly hadn't realized. Maybe Annabelle really did mind. After all, being micromanaged all day would be annoying.'
'Leona Grant felt a little frustrated at the thought. 'I don't restrict her all the time, do I?''
