"It's alright. Have some crullers."
Adrian took out a bag of brown sugar crullers. The rich aroma of brown sugar wafted into their noses. Old Master Tate and Rosalind stared, their eyes wide, and swallowed involuntarily.
"There's candy, too. Don't try to save it. We'll just buy more when it's gone."
Adrian produced another pack of candy, his tone confident. Old Master Tate's eyes lit up with excitement, but Rosalind looked worried. "We should still save it. We don't know when your father will come for us."
"We'll just earn more when the money runs out. There's no need to be frugal."
Adrian wolfed down his rice, his tone resolute. He planned to have Old Master Tate teach him how to develop photos that night, and then he would go to Vessaria to sell them. The only problem was the distance. It was about fifteen miles from Millstone Peak to Vessaria, and with no bus service, he would have to walk, which was far too time-consuming.
