Before Tang Xiaonan could even react, Jim had already pulled her behind him. He looked as if he were facing a mortal enemy, prepared to die fighting. She was both amused and touched, patting his tense back gently.
"Jim, the uncle isn't trying to kidnap me."
"He just said he wants you to be his daughter! Xiaonan, don't you believe this bandit." Jim was still on edge, drenched in sweat. It dripped into his eyes, and he wiped it away with the back of his hand, scanning his surroundings. 'First, I'll smash that bandit's head in, then I'll get Xiaonan and run.'
Tang Xiaonan was exasperated. She yelled at the old eccentric, who was clearly enjoying the show, "Uncle, please don't scare my brother. He'll take you seriously!"
Only then did the old eccentric laugh. "Your brother's amusing. Why don't you stay and be my son?"
Tang Xiaonan was dumbfounded. 'Is there something wrong with this guy? Why's he trying to adopt sons and daughters everywhere he goes?'
