Goldie Thorne was about to say more, but Adrian Hawthorne shot him a look, so he kept quiet. He also placed the luggage and radio on the flatbed cart. The two pullers moved with incredible speed, yet the cart remained perfectly steady. They reached the train station in just half an hour, before the ticket check had even started.
The two men waited with them, not saying much. Goldie Thorne bought them some meat buns—three for each of them—but they only ate one apiece. They saved the rest to take home to their children.
When it was finally time to board, Adrian Hawthorne bought platform tickets for the two men so they could see them off at the platform. With their help, the five large bags were loaded onto the train with ease. The men even helped stow the bags under the bunks, handling everything meticulously.
"All set."
