The window was high off the ground. Lost in her joy, Amanda Chapman didn't see Storm Xavier. Tang Xiao'nan didn't point him out to her, either, and just pulled her away. Despair filled Storm Xavier's eyes, but just a moment later, he grew even more desperate.
The old lady had come in carrying a bowl of medicine. When she saw he had actually managed to crawl to the window, her eyes turned cold. She yanked him back and forced the concoction down his throat.
Storm Xavier slipped back into a groggy sleep. The old lady, however, decided to increase the dosage. If she weren't afraid of arousing Clayton Xavier's suspicion, she would have sent this good-for-nothing to his grave with a bowl of poison long ago.
