"Popsicles for sale! Sugar, red bean, mung bean..."
A familiar vendor's call drifted over. From a distance, she saw the popsicle man riding toward them. Tang Xiao'nan waved happily. The popsicle man already recognized her; the chubby little girl was a daily customer. She was a sweet talker and cute to boot.
"Mister, I'd like two red bean popsicles."
Tang Xiao'nan pulled a handful of change from her pocket. There were ten-fen, five-fen, two-fen, and one-fen coins. Her hands were too small to hold it all, and some of the coins fell to the ground. Tang Xiao'nan picked them up and gave the man a five-fen coin and a one-fen coin. The red bean popsicles were three fen each.
"Here you go!"
The man only took five fen. Since she was a daily customer, five fen was enough; he'd still make a profit. He handed Tang Xiao'nan two red bean popsicles with a benevolent smile, looking at her as if she were his own daughter.
"Thank you, Mister."
