"Pah! You have people at the station, too?" Grace Winslow cursed. Taking advantage of Gordon Lynch's distraction, she secretly grabbed the scissors from the desk behind her.
Gordon Lynch scoffed. "Trying to trick me into talking?"
"Dream on, Grace."
"But, you're not a bad-looking little thing. Nice body, too. If you hadn't ruined my plans, I might have even treated you well, set you up somewhere nice. But now…"
"You only have yourself to blame for meddling."
As he spoke, Gordon Lynch closed the distance and reached out to grab Grace Winslow.
Grace Winslow gripped the scissors tightly, her heart pounding in her throat.
The instant Gordon Lynch's hand landed on her shoulder, she gripped the scissors and viciously stabbed them into his arm.
She put all her strength into it, and the scissors plunged deep into Gordon Lynch's arm.
A scream of agony ripped through the air.
