Laura Lynch, who had been weeping alongside her, instantly fell silent and stared at Grace Winslow, trembling.
Grace Winslow looked coldly at the three people before her. "Are you done?"
"Stephen Lynch, was your mother a stepmother? Or a mistress? My grandmother wasn't even dead yet, and she'd already had a child with my grandfather. You're an illegitimate son. What gives you the nerve to come to my door and cause a scene?"
"Have you no shame?"
"And you," she said, turning to Patricia, "you've got a lot of nerve. What makes you think my mom would give the house she worked her ass off for to an illegitimate son? As if he's worthy?"
"You think being loud and spouting nonsense makes you right?"
