"His Highness had these flowers flown in yesterday," Elaine said as Chloe moved the pots from the floor to the open-air balcony. "He said they are samples for the wedding and wants you to pick your favorite."
"They've only delivered about thirty samples so far. Dozens more will arrive tomorrow," Chloe said respectfully. "His Highness personally selected all these varieties for you, the Imperial Concubine, to make the final choice from." She held up a pot of butterfly-blue flowers and smiled. "I think this one is beautiful."
"I think the fragrant lilies are nice. So pink," Elaine said. She and Chloe never seemed to agree.
But Ashley Bowen had her own preference. Of all the flowers in the rose family, her favorite was the blue enchantress rose. 'If my wedding could be decorated with them,' she mused, 'it would be an absolute dream.'
