She found Vivian Lee's number, but to her surprise, the call wouldn't go through.
'That makes sense,' she thought. She was in a foreign country now and needed to activate international roaming, but she had left in such a hurry that she hadn't had time to arrange it.
Finally, she pushed open the door. The maid waiting outside had a look of delight on her face and eagerly came forward to ask, "Imperial Concubine, what are your orders?"
"I want to make a phone call," Ashley Bowen said, holding up her cell phone.
The maid understood and led her to the living room. Next to a large floor lamp was a small table with a telephone on it.
Ashley Bowen walked over quickly, crouched by the phone, and turned to ask the maid, "What do I need to dial before the number to call Serrania?"
The maid smiled faintly. "You dial 0086 for Serrania's country code, and if you're calling Imperia, you add 10 after that..."
