"Don't!" Yuri Sinclair hurriedly grabbed her hand, his grip almost painfully tight. He snatched the old booklet away, closed it with great care, and put it back in the inner pocket of his jacket.
"This booklet hasn't left my side in five years. I've grown attached to it. I can't bear to throw it away."
"You've kept it with you for five years?" Ashley Bowen asked in disbelief.
Yuri Sinclair nodded. "The new marriage certificate, too. I'll always keep them with me."
His words sounded so foolish, but at that moment, Ashley Bowen felt inexplicably touched.
She clutched her own marriage certificate tightly as a single, clear teardrop fell onto it.
