She gripped the balcony railing tightly, a feeling of torment churning inside her.
Inside the car, Ashley Bowen kept her head down, staring at the slippers on her feet. Her hands twisted the fabric of her nightgown.
'Since he's confessed everything to me, I should probably tell him the truth, too.'
"Yuri…"
"Hm?" Yuri Sinclair had been watching her the whole time. He saw how restless she'd been since getting in the car and knew she had something to say.
"Actually…" She bit her lip, finding it hard to begin.
"Actually, you took my invitation, didn't you?" Yuri finally saw through her, his voice gentle as he asked softly.
She looked up at him in surprise, finding it hard to believe.
Yuri offered no explanation, simply holding out his hand.
Sean immediately took an invitation from his briefcase, opened it, and placed it directly in Yuri's hand.
Yuri kept the invitation spread open.
Ashley Bowen glanced at it and was stunned.
