Sylvia Young came up behind him and placed her slender hands on his shoulders, gently starting to massage them.
The man, who had been dozing off, was instantly jolted awake.
Startled to see Sylvia Young, Wayne Sawyer flailed an arm and accidentally knocked over the ink bottle on his desk.
Blue ink soaked all the documents on the desk.
Seeing the ink still spreading, Sylvia Young scrambled to grab the documents, apologizing profusely. "Father, I'm so sorry! I saw you looked tired and just wanted to come in and rub your back. I never thought I'd startle you."
Her face was a mask of terror and self-reproach.
She stood to the side, apologizing over and over, looking utterly pitiful as she held the stained, useless documents.
Wayne Sawyer should have been furious, but when he looked up at her face, his heart softened.
He sighed. "You may go. And in the future, do not enter my study without my permission."
