She just glanced up at the wall. It was already nine o'clock, and she was still waiting for Yuri Sinclair to call and say goodnight.
'Oh, well,' she thought. 'He's probably busy with the kids. I'll just go to sleep.'
Ashley Bowen comforted herself and slowly closed her eyes.
Coincidentally, the moment she closed her eyes, the phone she had placed by her pillow rang.
"Hello!" she answered immediately, her voice full of excitement.
But the voice on the other end wasn't excited at all; it sounded a little weary.
"Are you done with your mahjong game?"
"Yup, and I won fifty yuan," Ashley Bowen said proudly. They were only playing for ten cents a point, so winning fifty yuan was no small feat.
"Quite the haul, isn't it," Yuri Sinclair said sarcastically before getting to the point. "Where's the milk powder we give the kids before bed? How do I make it?"
