Sean turned, and after just a couple of steps, he saw Ashley Bowen. He had no idea how much of their conversation she had overheard.
"S-sir…" he stammered.
Yuri Sinclair whipped his head around. Seeing Ashley Bowen standing in the doorway, his expression instantly darkened—only to be replaced a moment later by a smile.
"Shay, when did you get here?"
Terrified she might have overheard their conversation, Yuri rushed forward and grabbed her hand.
He felt a layer of cold sweat coating her palm.
"I just got here. What's wrong? You don't look so good. Were you and Sean bad-mouthing me?"
Ashley Bowen said, laughing playfully.
Seeing this, Sean immediately excused himself, leaving the two of them alone.
Only then did Yuri's heart settle. He squeezed her hand and gently pulled her into the office. "Why are your hands so cold? We were just discussing business."
He lied with practiced ease.
"Your air conditioner is set too low. I'm cold." When it came to acting, she was his equal.
