Joan Shaw never expected that after less than a few minutes of escape, she would be captured and brought back again.
And this time, she was dragged directly into his room!
Held down by two tall bodyguards, she was thrown onto the sofa. The sofa was very springy; she bounced a few times before sitting up. She had barely straightened her back for two seconds when a large hand from Miles Xavier pushed her, pressing her back against the sofa's cushions.
He knelt on the sofa with one knee, one arm circling her and the other bracing against the sofa, forming an enclosure that left her nowhere to run.
"Miles Xavier, how could you go back on your word?" She turned her face away, not wanting to breathe the same air as him.
Miles Xavier grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. "You want to run away that badly?" 'What part of me is worse than Finn Norris? I don't get it!'
