"I..." Joan Shaw lowered her head, her mind a complete mess. She didn't even know herself whether she should agree.
"It's rare for us to get a long vacation. We could have a destination wedding. Where do you want to go?" Finn Norris continued to press.
Joan Shaw bit her lip. "I don't want to go anywhere. Let's just get our marriage license here in town..."
'Getting the license in her hometown was too far, but doing it here in town would also be a hassle. What if someone at the registry office knew the Norris family and told Finn's parents? They would inevitably face another round of questioning.'
'After all, they'd been pretending to be a married couple for two years. It would be hard to come up with a good excuse for why they didn't get a license back then.'
