Nate Jennings tidied herself up before coming downstairs. The cheerful atmosphere in the dining room was instantly shattered.
Howard was eating unhurriedly. When he saw her, he looked as if he'd seen a ghost.
"What are you doing here?"
Nate Jennings had guessed Howard would have this unwelcoming expression. Not expecting anything better from him, she completely ignored him and looked toward the woman and two children beside him.
Her gaze first lingered on Gordon, then locked onto the baby, Juno Sinclair.
"So cute! Her little mouth is so pouty, and her face is so round. I was just like that when I was little!"
"Is that so?" Ashley Bowen fed Juno another bite, teasing, "Aunty says you're cute. Quick, say thank you."
Juno Sinclair blinked her big eyes, looking as if she didn't understand what "cute" meant at all. She reached out, picked up the spoon from her bowl, and fed herself a mouthful of congee.
