"I want you to be my inside source and constantly feed me intelligence on Jasper," Lyra said casually, but his eyes glinted with a dazzling light. He was determined to see this through, no matter how much Jasper opposed him.
'He had to know who Jasper had broken up with him for.'
Nate Jennings was stunned. She didn't react for a long moment, and it took a while longer before the meaning of his words suddenly hit her.
She frowned and scratched her head. "You mean, you want me to be a mole?" 'The word 'mole' had a thrilling ring to it, as if she were about to transform into an undercover cop.'
But she quickly shook her head. On her very first day at the company, Manager Wright had told her she was absolutely forbidden from interfering in Jasper's private life.
'If she agreed to Lyra's request and told him all of Jasper's business, wouldn't that be signing her own death warrant?'
"I... I can't agree to that..." she stammered, not daring to look up at him.
