Ethan Kingsley erupted in fury. He wished he could rush over and beat the man to death, roaring, "You dare try that, and I'll fucking end you!"
Lucas Rhodes let out a cold laugh. "Calm down. I won't force a woman to do something she doesn't want to. Besides, Ivy Tanner is a friend of Claire Sinclair's. I'll do it out of respect for Claire, but I won't act according to your whims. Ethan Kingsley, don't hit on my wife again."
After saying his piece, he hung up the phone.
"Fuck!" Ethan Kingsley cursed, smashing his phone on the ground.
He wanted to go out and beat someone up, but as soon as he stood, he collapsed again, dead drunk.

Ivy Tanner wasn't actually asleep. Her eyes were just closed, and she had heard every word Lucas Rhodes said.
The line, "Does knocking her up count as forcing her?" had left a deep impression. She could just imagine how frantic Ethan Kingsley must have been, and she found it laughable.
