Qingmu took a winding path to Li the carpenter's house on the south side of the village.
It was a small courtyard enclosed by stone walls. A corner of the yard was piled high with curly wood shavings. A large black dog swaggered forward, barking furiously at Qingmu, but was silenced by a shout from Li the carpenter, who was just stepping out.
"Qingmu! Here for the wooden tub? It was finished yesterday. I've just oiled it and left it to dry." He guessed Qingmu's purpose the moment he saw him.
Qingmu quickly said, "Thank you for your hard work, Uncle Li. When can we use the tub?"
Li the carpenter boasted proudly, "You can use it as soon as you get it home. Don't you worry, I used good quality wood."
Qingmu smiled. Juhua had been nagging him about it for a while now. He followed Li the carpenter into his workshop and immediately spotted their tub among all the wooden wares filling the room.
