The old woman was too stubborn; she refused to leave no matter what. After a while, the woman in her thirties or forties sighed and started walking back. She was well-dressed, and although she was getting on in years, her hair was styled impeccably, giving her a very refined air.
Qin Jiao suddenly had an idea and rushed out, nearly bumping into the woman. But the woman had a good temper and instead asked Qin Jiao if she was hurt.
Qin Jiao said, "Ma'am, I'm fine. Oh, are you trying to persuade the grandmother inside to go to North City with you? I think that's a great idea, actually. I've heard the security around here has been bad lately. It's really not safe for an old woman to be living alone."
The woman's expression immediately grew tense. "What's going on?"
"There are just some good-for-nothings who are always loitering around here. My parents even told me to come home right after school to avoid running into any bad people."
