"Heh heh... so you're back."
The woman's voice was hoarse and carried an indescribable glee.
Su Nian was never one to coddle others, let alone this vile ghost.
"Hold this."
Su Nian shoved the livestreaming phone into the young girl's hands and yanked the door open.
A woman stood eerily by the wall. Her eyes were bruised and black, with no whites to be seen—a truly bizarre sight.
The young girl held up the phone, a little dazed. She carefully stayed close to Su Nian, flinching when she saw the ghastly face.
The room was dark, its curtains drawn. The only illumination came from the light spilling in through the open door, making the woman standing stiffly at the entrance with a smile plastered on her face look exceptionally creepy.
"My dear daughter… heh heh heh!"
It was the first time Su Nian had ever heard such a sleazy laugh. She noted how the ghost was deliberately forcing its voice into a wispy, ethereal tone that lacked any real power.
