The tea was boiling hot.
A large patch on the back of Silas Lockwood's hand instantly turned red.
Luna Langley never expected her grandfather to lash out at her today. She was even more surprised that Silas Lockwood would shield her. After a two-second pause, Luna reacted quickly. She grabbed Silas's arm and rushed him to the kitchen to run it under cold water.
"I'm fine," Silas said, seeing her panic.
"It's so red, and you're still saying you're fine?"
Luna Langley turned on the faucet. A stream of cold water washed over the back of Silas's hand.
Even with prompt treatment, the skin on the back of Silas's hand still looked badly burned.
"We need to go to the hospital," Luna said decisively.
With that, she grabbed Silas's hand and ran outside.
In the main hall, the members of the Langley family were still standing around. The old man still looked furious.
