Chapter 51 - Agent

"So, do you still want to proceed with your plan to obtain the Suniaster, Riku?" said Makoto.

"How did you know I wanted to get the Suniaster, Makoto-sama?" said Riku.

"Didn't I tell you? When I came to this world, I used my ability to learn everything about it—including all that has happened and every piece of information that exists here," said Makoto.

"If that's the case, then Makoto-sama is all-knowing," said Riku.

"You could say that, but I rarely use my ability under normal circumstances," said Makoto.

"Why is that, Makoto-sama? Wouldn't it make you all-knowing?" said Shuvi, looking confused.

"What do you think, Riku? If you had the ability to know anything that happens in this world, how would you feel?" said Makoto.

Upon hearing Makoto's words, Riku paused to think before speaking.

"I'd definitely find this world very boring. Because if I knew everything about it, I wouldn't be able to feel any joy from the things I do," said Riku.

"That's exactly what I think too. That's why I rarely use my ability to its full extent—only a small part of it," said Makoto.

"So what do you think we should do, Makoto-sama? Should we still carry out the plan to get the Suniaster?" said Riku.

"If I hadn't come to this world, your plan would have certainly succeeded in summoning the Suniaster—but the price you'd have to pay wouldn't be small," said Makoto.

"So our plan worked, Riku!" said Shuvi happily. But upon hearing Makoto's words, Riku fell into deeper thought.

"If I may ask, Makoto-sama—what price would I have paid to summon the Suniaster?" said Riku. Shuvi, who had been joyful moments before, fell silent after hearing Riku's question.

"In that case, what if you two saw what would have happened in the future if I hadn't come to this world?" said Makoto.

"Can you see the future, Makoto-sama!?" said Riku in surprise.

"I can't see the future, but I have information about this world. Would you like to see it?" said Makoto.

Riku and Shuvi exchanged glances and nodded.

"Please show us what would have happened in the future, Makoto-sama," said Riku seriously.

"Very well," said Makoto, then conjured a screen panel in front of Riku and Shuvi, displaying the video No Game No Life: Zero.

"This was when I went to the crash site of the Dwarf airship," said Riku as he watched the start of the video. Later, when they saw the scene of their first meeting, Shuvi said:

"Now I realize how embarrassing my words were back then," said Shuvi, looking embarrassed.

Makoto watched as Riku and Shuvi focused on the video, their expressions shifting with each scene. He could only shake his head.

"What do you all want to do in this world?" said Makoto to his followers.

"I want to try fighting the Old Deus Artosh, Waka. I want to see just how strong the strongest god in this world is," said Tomoe.

"I'm not interested in the current state of this world, Waka-sama—though it would be different if the world had recovered, so I could find ingredients for my cooking," said Mio.

"I'm quite interested in Dwarf technology, Waka-sama," said Shiki.

"I'm not really interested in this world either, Waka-sama—but I want to recruit Corone if she's willing to work with me," said Selena.

Meanwhile, Koyuki and Hakuren simply shook their heads.

Before long, Riku and Shuvi finished watching the video.

"Shuvi—why did you recklessly leave without saying anything to me? Do you know that if I lost you, I wouldn't know what to do?" said Riku.

"But if I hadn't gone, our plan wouldn't have succeeded," said Shuvi.

"You even shared your heart with the Ex-Machina! Didn't you say your heart belonged only to yourself?" said Riku.

"If it could help you, Riku, I'd be willing to do it if needed," said Shuvi.

"FOOL!?" Riku shouted, then embraced Shuvi.

"Don't do something foolish like that again. If we fail, we can make a new plan—but if I lose you, everything would be for nothing," said Riku as he held her.

"Riku," said Shuvi, looking at him.

"Shuvi," said Riku, gazing back at her.

"Ahem—are you two done?" said Makoto, watching as they grew affectionate with each other.

"Forgive me, Makoto-sama—I got carried away," said Riku, embarrassed as he let go of Shuvi.

"Now that you know what would have happened, what do you think—as a being from this world, Riku? I could summon the Suniaster right now and end this endless war if you wish," said Makoto.

"If possible, I want to end this war immediately, Makoto-sama—but who will hold the Suniaster? From what I've seen, only gods can touch it," said Riku.

"That's correct—only beings at the level of gods can touch and use the Suniaster. I've already decided who will hold it," said Makoto.

"Who is it, Makoto-sama?" said Riku.

"What do you think—could you become the ruler of this world... Tet?" said Makoto, looking past Riku to the side.

"Oh my... it seems I've been found out," said Tet, who had appeared beside Riku.

"Tet!? When did you get here?" said Riku in shock.

"Me?.... I've always been by your side, Riku—because you're the only one who believes I exist," said Tet with a happy smile.

"So Tet—what do you think about becoming the ruler of this world?" said Makoto.

"If I become the ruler of this world, can I visit your world, Makoto-sama?" said Tet.

"Of course you can. I can create a permanent portal connecting this world to mine," said Makoto.

"In that case, I accept your offer, Makoto-sama!" said Tet with a bright smile.

"Then let's go first," said Makoto, then teleported with all of them, reappearing high in the sky.

"Why are we up here, Makoto-sama?" said Riku as he looked around.

"To watch the changes that will take place in this world, of course. Now, let's begin," said Makoto. Using [Ultimate Skill: Rule], he took dominion over the world.

"Appear," said Makoto, opening both palms as if to grasp something. Sparkling light began to gather around him, converging at a single point in front of him until the Suniaster took shape, floating before him.

"It's so beautiful," said Koyuki.

"When seen up close, it really emits immense energy. No wonder ordinary beings can't touch it," said Tomoe casually.

Riku and Shuvi stared at the Suniaster in silence, feeling as if they were dreaming—seeing the goal of their long-held plan appear before their eyes.

Makoto then used the Suniaster to restore the heavily damaged world, bringing it back to life: trees and plants grew lushly, murky seas became clear, dry rivers filled with flowing clean water, and the dark gray sky turned bright blue with white clouds drifting above.

"Truly... beautiful," said Riku as he watched the changes unfold.

"Yes, Riku. Thanks to Makoto-sama, we can easily end this endless war," said Shuvi, holding Riku's hand.

Seeing the restored world, Makoto made his voice ring out across every corner of the world, so all beings could hear:

"Hear me, all beings living in this world! How foolish you were to raise swords against one another—your foolish actions have left the world in such ruin. You fought over the highest throne without thinking of the consequences of your war. You who consider yourselves the smartest, wisest, and most knowledgeable—did you never think about what your actions would bring? Old Deus! You were born from the world's spirit corridor—but look at what you've done. You started wars with foolish thoughts of killing each other to become the world's ruler. Seeing a world that should be beautiful and full of life destroyed by war fills me with sorrow. With the power I possess, I choose Tet to be my agent and govern this world," said Makoto, then handed the Suniaster to Tet beside him.

"Hear everyone!? I am Tet—the agent chosen by Makoto-sama to govern this world. The boring war ends starting today!" said Tet.

"From this moment on, I make a new vow:

1. All forms of murder, war, and plunder are forbidden.

2. All disputes shall be resolved through games.

3. In games, bets must be fair and of equal value.

4. As long as rule 3 is not violated, there are no limits to games or their rules.

5. The challenged party has the right to determine the game rules.

6. Games agreed upon by vow must be obeyed.

7. Conflicts between groups shall be resolved by designated representatives.

8. Any party caught cheating during a game shall be deemed the loser.

9. In the name of the gods, the above rules cannot be changed.

10. Do not be enemies with one another—let play together," said Tet.

After Tet declared the new vow, they all teleported to the human settlement, appearing at the entrance of the cave leading to the human hideout.

Guided by Riku and Shuvi, they walked into the hideout. After some time, they reached a fairly spacious chamber inside the cave, where Makoto could see the residents looking joyful—knowing the war was over and they no longer had to live in fear every day.

Corone was happy to see Riku return, but grew slightly wary when she noticed he and Shuvi had brought strangers. Still, she trusted that Riku and Shuvi would not bring dangerous people to their hideout.

"Riku! Did you hear too? The war is over!" said Corone as she walked toward Riku and Shuvi.

"Yes, I know. The entire world has also been restored from the war's damage," said Riku.

"Truly! Is the sky really blue now, and is there a sun up there?" said Corone.

"Yes—it's safe outside now, and full of blooming plants and flowers. If you want, we can all go out and see it together," said Riku.

"Everyone! Riku says it's safe outside—the sky is blue and the sun is shining! Let's all go out and see this new world!" said Corone to the gathered residents.

Following Corone's lead, all the residents left their hideout and gazed at the clear sky and various blooming plants and flowers before them.

"It's so beautiful—the air is so fresh too," said Corone, standing at the cave entrance and watching as the residents stared in awe at the sight before their eyes.

"Corone—I want to introduce someone to you," said Riku as he approached her.

"Oh right! Forgive me for ignoring all of you earlier. My name is Corone Dola—Riku and Shuvi's older sister," said Corone to Makoto and the others.

"It's alright—no need to worry about it, Corone," said Makoto casually. Then they introduced themselves one by one, until it was Tet's turn.

"My name is Tet—nice to meet you!" said Tet cheerfully.

"TET!?" said Corone in shock.

"Aren't you the god who just spoke earlier? And Makoto... where have I heard that name before?" said Corone.

"Makoto-sama is the one who chose Tet to be the agent of this world," said Shuvi.

"That's right! Makoto-sama, please forgive my rudeness earlier," said Corone, bowing deeply.

"No need to be so formal—I prefer your casual demeanor from before," said Makoto.

"Corone—I want to talk with you for a moment," said Riku.

"With me? Alright," said Corone, then walked a short distance away with Riku and Shuvi. Makoto watched them discuss something, then said to Tet:

"Tet—can you go gather all the Old Deus? Once I finish things here, I'll come meet you," said Makoto.

"Leave it to me, Makoto-sama!" said Tet, then vanished.

After their discussion, Riku, Shuvi, and Corone returned.

"Makoto-sama—thank you so much for agreeing to let us stay in your world," said Corone.

"Don't you want to think about it again? This world has been restored to how it was before the war—you could build a new civilization without fear of war breaking out again," said Makoto.

"I've already thought about it, Makoto-sama. For us, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Corone seriously.

"Very well. Selena—can you help with moving everyone? Once they're all ready, I'll open the portal to Eryndal," said Makoto.

"Leave it to me, Waka-sama. Corone-san—let's go," said Selena.

"Alright, Selena-sama," said Corone.

"Riku—you can go with Shiki to pick up those who have been scattered elsewhere," said Makoto.

"Understood, Makoto-sama," said Riku.

"Understood, Waka-sama," said Shiki.
